A clay pipe depicting John L Sullivan & Jem Smith on the sides of the bowl. The pipe was likely made for the highly touted contest between the two in 1887. Sullivan had traveled from the US to fight the English champion, Smith. In Sullivan's words he was 'blackguarded' out of the fight, and Smith went on to fight Jake Kilrain in France. A rare piece featuring two legends of the bare knuckle era. 13cm long. Also, a blue jacket with "Darling Downs Amateur Champion 1966 pocket."
