1952 HELSINKI: Athletics programmes for July 23rd and 25th. (2). Shirley Strickland competed in the heats of the 80m Hurdles on the 23rd and the heats of the 200m on the 25th together with Marjorie Jackson and Winsome Cripps. Shirley Strickland went on to win the 80m Hurdles gold medal in a new World and Olympic record time. She also won bronze in the 100m sprint.
