An antique Indian silver bracelet (kataria), Orissa origin, 19th/20th century. Note: This bracelet form is inspired by Vishnu's serrated-edged weapon (chakra); a steel disc with a central hole and a sharpened edge, twirled rapidly on a forefinger and hurled at an adversary. 11cm diameter, internal 5cm diameter, 127 grams. PROVENANCE: Private Collection, Melbourne.
