An antique Malay silver modesty disc (caping) of heart shape. The main decorative border is embedded with a row of padi seeds followed by a row of embossed dots inside a thin border. The central shield adorned with floral decoration. With original silver chain (50 cm long). Terengganu, Northeast Malaysia, circa 1900. Private collection, Melbourne. Acquired in Singapore in 1980. 7cm high, 6.5cm wide, 31 grams. Note: The last known cases of babies wearing the caping was during the reign of Sultan
