27th January 1851 letter from The Under Secretary to the Government of Bengal (Dalrymple) to The Sheriff of Calcutta, with details of "the ten European Convicts under sentence of transportation" informing him that passage "has been procured per Barque 'Alibi', which vessel is now ready to sail for Van Diemen's Land." A list of "Bengal Convicts" and "Bombay Convicts" is provided. The Barque "Alibi" arrived in Van Diemen's Land on 25th May 1851 with just sixteen convicts onboard.
