Cartoonist SAMUEL WELLS at CARLTON MATCHES: May 1922 Carlton defeats Fitzroy with "the ground looking like a battlefield"; July 1922 Carlton defeat Collingwood by 5 points after a game that was like a see-saw till Alec Farrow kicked the winning goal; also, a wonderful image of Carlton Captain, Horrie Clover struggling to deal with the flu, injuries and "stiff luck" which were afflicting his team during the 1923 season, when they finished 7th.
