Antique English leather covered single draw telescope with original lens cap and eyepiece with shutters, the barrel engraved "PARNELL HERMITAGE BRIDGE, LONDON", 19th century, accompanied with a hand-written note "Henty Relic. Brass Mounted Telescope. I declare that this is the original telescope owned and used by Edward Henty Pioneer" signed by William Poland. Purchased from the highly regarded antiquarian dealer Kenneth Hince. 83cm long when closed.
