CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, created from a half-penny, engraved on one side "G. B." "R. B. 1840", surrounded by a flowering wreath and surmounted by a crown and on the reverse "Forget Me Not When I Am Far Away, April 10" with an illustration of a two hands shaking. Accompanied by research notes identifying the convict as George Barnes sentenced to transportation for life for manslaughter in 1840. He arrived in Van Diemen's Land aboard Asia I.
