17th June 1808 manuscript memorandum, single sheet, instructing Captain William Pryce Cumby of HMS Polyphemus, to accompany and "take under your protection" the convict transport ship Admiral Gambier and Eolus" (also spelt Aeolus) then en route for New South Wales with 280 convicts aboard. The document is headed "Royal William", which was the major victualling depot of the Royal Navy in Plymouth.
