CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, created from a 1797 cartwheel penny (holed), engraved on the front with two intertwined hearts with piercing arrows, the date 1819 above and "7 YEARS" below, the reverse engraved "SANDS LEES 29th JULY, 1819, NOTTS.". Accompanied by research notes identifying the convict as Sands Lees sentenced to transportation for seven years for house robbery in 1820. He arrived in New Sotuh Wales aboard the ship Mangles.
